Introduction

Introducing Susu Nelson. A 25-year-old gentleman full of vitality. Susu graduated from Genius IT Brainery (GITB) and completed the essential IT course in 2023.

He is currently a graphic designer and an aspiring student at Accra Technical University, pursuing a Bachelor of Technology in Computer Science.

Educational Journey

After completing junior high school, Susu faced financial challenges that prevented him from continuing to secondary school. Recognizing the importance of skill development, he decided to enroll at GITB to study IT.

During his time there, he faced a difficult period when he lost his mother. He considered giving up, but Sir Desmond Kitsi, the CEO of GITB, motivated him to continue. With the support of dedicated instructors and hands-on lessons, he remained determined.

Susu also took on a project to create graphics for his community. This experience deepened his passion for graphic design and helped him develop his skills.

Career Highlights

After graduating from GITB, Susu encountered some obstacles.Without a proper laptop, he practiced graphic design on a broken device he purchased from a friend.Despite these challenges, he kept working hard and improving his skills.

Desperate to get a job, Susu relocated to Accra. Initially, he struggled because he had no experience, but he didn’t give up. He started volunteering for free, learning from others for five months. His dedication finally paid off when he earned GHS 2,000 for his excellent work.

With this money, Susu bought better design tools and rented a space to start his own design business. Now, he manages his shop while still studying.

Challenges and Successes

Susu’s journey has been tough. He dealt with money issues, grief, and rejection. But his can-do attitude helped him turn these challenges into chances to grow. Today, he’s a talented graphic designer with his own workspace and a university student.
